At the very beginning ThinkINchina was funded only by the enthusiasm (and private funds) of the young researchers that gave birth to the initiative. During the last 11 years of successful events and initiatives the TIC Community has been constantly expanding, giving a precious contribution to the academic discussion between China and its growing foreign audience.

For this reason, we decided to consolidate the community even further, offering to young researchers and students engaged in Contemporary China new chances to make fruitful experiences.

We therefore thank our partners for their continued support and for the great opportunities they provide to the ThinkINchina Community. After completing the registration, you will be able to enjoy the special offers listed below.

The TOChina Summer School, a partnership of the TOChina HubUniversity of Torino, and the Torino World Affairs Institute (T.wai), has been running with the support of Fondazione CRT since 2007 to help outstanding students, young scholars and engaged professionals reflect on the complexity of China’s development and return to global prominence from a plurality of perspectives.

The aim of this program is to work at the intersection between China’s long-term structural transformations in socio-political, economic and cultural terms, and those particularly salient trends that are currently informing international debates on China. To ensure the pluralism of disciplinary and intellectual perspectives presented throughout the course, TOChina Summer School faculty members are academics and policy experts from a variety of fields, including Economics, Economic History, International Relations, International Political Economy, Political Philosophy and Culture, Political Science, and Sociology.

The 2021 TOChina Summer School is suitable not only for participants wishing to study the domestic aspects of China’s politics, but also for those who intend to explore the rapidly evolving dynamics of Asian and global geopolitics and economics. For those looking for insights into future career options, the TOChina Summer School offers a unique opportunity to engage in lively debates with senior scholars who are often in charge of Ph.D programs in their country, and affiliated to a variety of organizations. The informal sessions participants join to acquire greater knowledge of the work of TOChina faculty members are a trademark of TOChina’s hands-on approach to the study of contemporary China.

As a sign of support and trust for ThinkINchina Community, TOChina offers a discount on the tuition fees to TIC Registered Members and invites them to join its world-class program, that for its 15th edition will take place online for this special edition from June 21 to July 2, 2021.

Applications will be opened until June 14, 2021 – check TOChina website for updates.
